Seen this, "You are not authorized to view this resource." ?
You may have seen the above error message while browsing this site. This particular message has to do with which user type your account is. This FAQ will describe what each user access level can do.
Registered Users Group:
A registered user has no ability to create edit or publish content. They may submit new links for publication and they may have access to restricted content that is not available to guests. For example, the search function or the Contact Us section.
Author User Group:
These Users are given access to create content, signify certain aspects of how the content is to be displayed and specify the date for when the material should be published. Authors have all the access rights of a Registered User. However, submissions will be subject to approval by an Administrator.
Editor User Group:
These Users are given access to submit and edit content of their own articles as well as that of any other author. Meaning that any content submitted by an Author User, once published, can be edited and changed by an Editor User. Editors also have the same access rights of an Author User. Submissions are also subject to approval by an Administrator.
Publishers User Group:
These users are given access to submit and edit any content submitted by any user. Publishers can perform all the duties of authors and editors plus have the ability to actually publish an article.
In general, any access rights provided to a parent group (like Registered) is inherited by the child groups (i.e. Author) unless it is specifically denied by the Super Administrator.

Administrator User Groups:
Administrator group information is available to the admins through the help pages of the admin console, so there is no need to cover it in this FAQ.
